Kate Alexander is the Communications & Marketing Manager for Leadership Roundtable. Kate leads all Leadership Roundtable communications, media and marketing efforts across organizational, development and service portfolios. She is an award-winning writer and communicator with extensive experience in strategic communications and media. Kate is a born storyteller who spent nearly 10 years as a journalist in the greater Washington, D.C. region before moving into communications.
Prior to joining Leadership Roundtable, Kate served the Catholic Church in Maryland as Director of Communications and Engagement for the Maryland Catholic Conference, the public policy advocate for more than 1 million Maryland Catholics.
Raised in both the Catholic and Protestant faiths, Kate is driven by a lifelong belief in the teachings of Christ and in the power of every individual to change the world for good.
Kate has a passion for health and wellness drawn from her commitment to Catholic social teaching. In 2017, she obtained her Master of Science in Nutrition Education from American University in Washington, D.C., a degree that combines graduate work in advocacy and large-scale public education with scientific coursework in the field of nutrition. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Mass Communication from Shepherd University in West Virginia, where she captained the university’s nationally ranked Debate and Forensics team to numerous championships.
In 2019, Kate was appointed to serve on the board of directors for Girls on the Run Montgomery County, Md. where she helps guide the organization’s development and growth in service of its mission to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experienced-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
When Kate is not managing Leadership Roundtable communications, she enjoys cooking, long runs, hiking in the mountains, yoga, a good bottle of wine, and spending time with her family and beloved schnauzer, Tessie Loo.
