Leadership Roundtable created the Catholic Partnership Summit to convene Catholic leaders to address the most pressing challenges and opportunities facing the Church. We hosted the first Catholic Partnership Summit in 2019 in response to the twin crises of abuse and leadership failures that was brought to the fore again with the 2018 Pennsylvania Grand Jury Report. More than 200 leaders gathered in Washington, D.C. for the inaugural Summit to directly address the twin crises, and together identified best practices in accountability and co-responsiblity as well as best practices for responding to sexual abuse.
Each year since, we’ve convened nearly 300 leaders annually at the Catholic Partnership Summit and produced an annual Summit report that conveys the actionable recommendations put forth by attendees and summaries of important discussions led by our panel of experts.
Our annual Catholic Partnership Summit and resulting reports have become models for how the Church can address crises going forward.
Following each Summit, Leadership Roundtable compiles the discussions, presentations, and recommendations developed during the Catholic Partnership Summit into a report. Our annual Summit report is shared widely with more than 2,000 Catholic leaders and every bishop in the United States.
Past Summit reports have become influential documents that have helped shape the Church’s response to crises, notably the development of the Australian Bishops Conference and Catholic Religious Australia’s report “The Light from the Southern Cross: Promoting Co-Responsible Governance in the Catholic Church in Australia.”
The J. Donald Monan, SJ Distinguished Catholic Philanthropy Medal seeks to thank and inspire philanthropists of the Catholic Faith who emulate and personify the vision, character, creativity, and commitment to excellence of the late Rev. J. Donald Monan of the Society of Jesus.
The Monan Medal is conferred annually to Catholic philanthropists who have invested generously and faithfully in the Catholic Church’s work to lead through exemplary temporal affairs, and who’s giving reflects Fr. Monan’s deeply held belief in collaborative excellence and partnership.
