Leadership Tip: Self-Care

Every leader should take time to reflect upon their well-being and find ways to improve it. Here are some prompts to assist your self-reflection:

  • Call a peer and made a social appointment for some time in the next two weeks
  • Do some spiritual reading
  • Confront someone about a challenging situation with compassion and nurturance
  • Be aware of your feelings and do not distract yourself from them with work or avoidance
  • Plan and protect your time off from work and email.
  • Nurtured yourself with some activity you enjoy, such as reading a book, watching a movie, focusing on a hobby, etc.
  • Get regular medical checkups and prioritize your health.
